History

 

Institute of Magnetism (IMAG) was founded in June 1995 on the basis of two departments of the Institute for Metal Physics and one department of the Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation, both research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The Institute was founded by the Joint Order of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education of Ukraine on August 17, 1995, No. 181/249.

Institute of Magnetism of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine - scientific center of fundamental research in the field of Magnetism

IMAG is active in research, postgraduate education, and industrialization of research through industrial partnerships. The members of the Institute are involved in the undergraduate education programs at the National University and National Technical University in Kiev, through adjust professor positions.

Of the 128 staff members of the Institute, 1 academician of the National Academy of Sciences (V.G. Baryakhar), 2 Corresponding Members. NASU (A.M. Pogorily, B.O. Ivanov), 1 Corresponding Member The Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (Yu.I. Gorobets), 17 doctors of sciences, 29 candidates of sciences. The title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine" (V.G. Baryakhtar, Ye.D. Bilokolos, Yu.I. Gorobets, A.M. Pogoriliy, V.F. Los). State Prizes of Ukraine in the field of science and technology have V.G. Baryakhtar, A.M. Pgoroliy and Yu.I. Gorobets, Award of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V.G. Baryakhtar, Yu.I. Gorobets, AM Pogorily, B.O. Ivanov, V.F. Los, Ya.B. Bazaliy V.V. Kokorin and V.A. Lvov, a prize to them. Ostrovsky in the field of physics Yu.I. Gorobets and V.F. Los.
 
Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Victor Grigorievich Baryakhtar is an outstanding Ukrainian scientist, known for his brilliant results in the field of theoretical physics, the physics of magnetic phenomena, solid state physics, as well as ecological ones, as the Honorary Director and founder of the Institute Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuri Ivanovich Gorobets. the consequences of the Chernobyl accident; Laureate of the State Prizes of Ukraine: (in 1972 and 1986 - in the field of science and technology, in 1999 - in the field of ecology), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, the winner of the awards to them. K.D. Sinelnikova, im. S.I. Baker and them N.M. Krylova National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, laureate of international awards to them. M.M. Bogolyubov and them. St. Valentine, the Knight of the Order of the Labor Red Flag, "Lenin", "Yaroslav the Wise," full knight of the Order "For Discipline". Awarded a Gold Medal to them. Vernadsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 2010 - for outstanding personal merits before the Ukrainian state in the development of physical science, exceptional achievements in the organization of fundamental research, long-term fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity assigned the title of Hero of Ukraine with the awarding of the Order of the State.
