International Conference “Modern problems of solid state and statistical physics”

International Conference “Modern problems of solid state and statistical physics” dedicated to 90 th birthday of academician Viktor Bar’yakhtar and 25 th anniversary of the Institute for Magnetism of the National Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will be held by the Institute of Magnetism on September 14-15, 2020 in Kiev.

Owing to the ongoing pandemic COVID-19, the conference perhaps will be held in an on-line regime The scope of the Conference includes the most relevant results and problems in the area of solid state physics, particularly, in physics of magnetic phenomena, and equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics.

Conference sections:
1. Solid state physics and magnetic phenomena
2. Statistical physics

Proceedings:
1. Journal papers
2. Abstracts in electronic form
3. Book of selected contributions

The Department has a broad range of instrumentation available for the fabrication and analysis of advanced thin-film materials. For the high-quality deposition of nanomaterials and characterization of their properties, we use various equipment listed below.

-    High vacuum chambers for film samples deposition by e-beam evaporation, dc- and rf- magnetron sputtering;
-    Hot isostatic pressing setup for hydrothermal synthesis of nanoparticles;
-    Electrical and magnetoresistance measurements setup;
-    Torque and vibrating sample magnetometers;
-    X-band EPR spectrometer;
-    LEF-3M-1 ellipsometer etc.
